Question

If this was your blog, what would you add, take away or do to make it better?

anonymous replies are fine...

ADDED Edit: I wanted to add the fact that I purposely overlapped the boxes in my CSS. It shouldn't overlap the text and I think that it creates more of a 3d look. However, I have had a lot of feedback that people thought it doesn't look right in Firefox or Mac or that it overlapps. It looks that way in Firefox and IE. It's interesting though how many people consider it a mistake! I don't like to always follow the rules and know I broke that one which seems to throw a lot of people. Sometimes breaking the norm can be good and other times it's not.

I'd just make it look a bit neater. But I have NO HTML skills so I'm using the most basic of blogger's templates. So really, just tidy it up a bit.
Hope I haven't offended, I don't believe in anonymous commenting.

No, you haven't offended me in anyway! I want honest answers from people that is the best feedback. I mentioned the anonymous option because some might feel uncomfortable answering this question but it is perfectly fine to not be and thank you for your input!

I would certainly not ask other people to change my blog. You have a great blog. Keep it up. I don't think you need to change it. After all, a blog is a personal diary of one's life, thoughts, opinions, etc. Asking people to change that is akin to asking people to comment on your life.

Anon,

Thank you very much for the compliments on the blog! I appreciate your comments and considered not replying for a bit because I don't want to break the brainstorming concept of this post. This blog definitely has my personality involved in it but I don't consider it a life type journal blog. It's a blog about blogs, finding interesting blogs and rating those blogs. It's also a place for others to share their thoughts on other blogs. So when I asked a question like this I consider it an open brainstorming session. It's not that I will change everything to everyone else’s ideas but it may get my brain moving or open my eyes to others views or what they are seeing. I could learn some new things and that is just the best in my eyes and part of what I enjoy about blogging. Growth, change, real people, ideas all flowing in every direction yet functioning so well some times at blogs just boggles my mind at times. Thanks again I really do appreciate the ideas. Communication and technology can be wonderful at times and it can be a pain too:)

To me, it seems cluttered with too many things on the first page -- I think you're trying to do too much and a lot of it sort of gets lost. I also don't particularly like the default color scheme. Grey just doesn't grab my attention, and the reddish text isn't an appealing color in my view. I suggest you get a program such as ColorSchemer and come up with more muted tones that blend together better.

Now, wait --- I just found the background changer which is a nice touch (but I think you could use some more muted color choices).

I'm on a mac so I'm not going to comment on your design. Perhaps when I get on my husband's.. I can. But the margin to the right was a bit askew is all I noticed. The rest had an interesting ~stacked~ look to it. Oh, scavanger hunt clue and if I don't write it down I'll forget it.
